Chemical Bonding ~ What it means and what are its types

The force of attraction which binds together ionic or non ionic species (be it atoms, molecules or ions) together with each other is called chemical bonding.
It acts as the binding force of adhesion between inter particles.

Chemical bonding means = Bonding between particles (chemically ; and not physically). This makes it very clear that formation of chemical bonds are a chemical change.
For example,
A chemical bond is the bond that is responsible for attraction between two different species of charges.

Unlike chemical bonds, Physical bonds are not permanent – they are temporary. For example, you glued Ice cream sticks for creating an art and craft project : that’s a physical bond.

We could say that –
Chemical bonds change molecule and the thing itself... means gold ≠ iron (because of Atomic structures of them and stability)
But however, physical bonds change the way we perceive things around us, i.e. gold ≠ brass ( เคนिं : peital ), still brass looks very similar to gold as brass is made  by adding Copper and Zinc in such a ratio that we get the look and feel of gold. \\ W peital

Think of chemical bond as spammer of multiple atoms or molecules, in a manner like –
   | We have an atom ( / molecule)
   |  But for 1 gram of substance would require Avagadro's number ( hundreds of thousand crores of thousand crores) : hence the deadline is big, so we require to spam many atom so that we get 1 gram, for efficiency these atoms are bonded.

In other words, atoms and molecules are extremely small, so even a tiny amount of matter contains an enormous number of them. Chemical or metallic bonds organize and hold these particles together in stable arrangements, producing bulk materials with recognizable properties.

Now an important note is that not everthing we see is existing because of chemical bonding. Take for example noble gases like helium gas consists mostly of separate helium atoms.like

Also look that in a solid metal, atoms are held together by metallic bonding. In water, hydrogen and oxygen atoms are connected by covalent bonds within each molecule, while separate water molecules attract one another through weaker intermolecular forces.
This tells to use that intermolecular force are much weaker than atomic chemical bonds.

Now, its time for critical appreciation of thisarticle. This article is good to vibe learn, but prone to some scientific errors thati discovered later :

 – – – Chemical bonds hold atoms together within a substance or molecule, whereas intermolecular forces are attractions between separate molecules. For example, the hydrogen and oxygen atoms within a water molecule are connected by strong covalent bonds. However, separate water molecules attract one another through weaker intermolecular forces, including hydrogen bonding.

 – – – Intermolecular forces are generally weaker than ionic, covalent, and metallic bonds, although they strongly influence properties such as boiling point, melting point, viscosity, and surface tension.

  – – – Noble gases such as helium generally exist as separate atoms rather than as molecules. Nevertheless, even helium atoms experience very weak intermolecular attractions called London dispersion forces.

– – – Metals are held together by metallic bonding. Brass, for example, is an alloy made mainly from copper and zinc. It may resemble gold in appearance, but it is not gold because its atoms, composition, and properties are different.

Have a happy learning curve with us.
